Playmates depicts two young elephants playing with each other. It is located near the entrance to the new Patricia and Byron J. Gambulos ZooZeum. The sculpture is also near the entrance to the brand-new elephant area, an expansive and well-designed habitat for the three elephants at the OKC Zoo.
The sculpture is in a mulched area near the ZooZeum. One elephant is laying on its left side with his head and trunk up trying to look at the other elephant. The second animal is kneeling on its back legs, and his torso and front legs are on the elephant on the ground.
The OKC Zoo is open daily except Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. Admission for adults is $8; $5 for children 3-11 and Seniors. You are welcome to bring in your own food and drink, but straws and glass are not permitted. Smoking is banned at the zoo and the parking area.
