This mural portrays several prominent townspeople from the community in which I was raised. Among them is my grandfather, John DeKock, pictured emerging from a store in a white apron. He had been a grocer/butcher as a younger man. Also pictured is Fern Martin, a dedicated elementary school teacher. To the left is Bill Mullins, the town banker and father of a friend and classmate. The carriage displays the name "Patz's", which is the local grocery store. Other people are at present unidentified.
I believe this was created by an artist named Susan Young. Some discussion from local residents also gives credit to art students from the local high school.
