This cold war era M60 tank has been on display outside the Agawam American Legion Post since 2008. It was placed "In Honor of All Veterans Past-Present-Future".

The American Legion is located at 478 Springfield Street, Feeding Hills, MA 01030. Feeding Hills is a political subdivision of Agawam that has its own ZIP code.

The M60, also known as the M60 Patton, is a first-generation main battle tank built for the U.S. Military and introduced in December 1960. It was widely used by the U.S. and its allies, especially those in NATO. It was not widely used in Vietnam but did see service in the Middle East. Both with the Israeli forces during the Yom Kippur War in the Sinai and the Golan Heights and during Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm with the 1st Marine Expeditionary Force in Kuwait. Its use was discontinued in the U.S. in 1997, but it remains in service in other countries throughout the world today.

This combat tank is characterized by a 105 mm gun and utilizes a full track. It was the last U.S. main battle tank to use homogeneous steel armor for protection. It was also the last to feature an escape hatch under the hull.
Location restrictions:
No restrictions. The tank is on the grounds in front of the American Legion and clearly visible from Springfield Street. It's always available to the general public.
