Downtown Canon City has a charm that allows you to relive the Pikes Peak or Bust gold rush days of the late 1800s. The 100-year-old clock tower was rescued from the courthouse that was torn down in 1962 and recently rebuilt upon a 50-foot tower.
The old clock tower, from the Victorian County Courthouse that burned years ago, has been recreated on Main Street.
The towers cupola seems to be almost identical to the one mounted on the old courthouse. The face of the clock seem to be identical. This clock mounted in the Canon City Clock Tower could very well be the original in a newer home since the original location on the old courthouse no longer exists.
