DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1958 (WER) THE STATION IS LOCATED ON THE SUMMIT OF A PROMINENT, PARTLY CULTIVATED KNOLL, APPROXIMATELY 2 MILES SOUTHWEST OF CULMERVILLE, 3 MILES NORTHWEST OF RUSSELTON, 1.0 MILE NORTHEAST OF BAIRDFORD AND ON PROPERTY OWNED BY MR. C.C. STEPHENS. TO REACH THE STATION FROM THE WEST END OF BRIDGE OVER RAILROAD TRACKS IN THE EAST PART OF THE SMALL VILLAGE OF CULMERVILLE, GO SOUTHWEST ON BLACKTOP ROAD (PASSING THROUGH CURTISVILLE) FOR 2.0 MILES TO A RAILROAD OVERPASS, CONTINUE STRAIGHT AHEAD ON BLACKTOP ROAD FOR 0.5 MILE TO A SIDE ROAD ON THE RIGHT (BAIRDFORD ROAD) AND AN ESSO SERVICE STATION ON THE LEFT. TURN RIGHT AND GO WESTERLY ON BAIRDFORD ROAD FOR 0.7 MILE TO A SIDE ROAD ON THE RIGHT (MONIER ROAD), TURN RIGHT ON MONIER ROAD AND GO 0.25 MILE TO A CROSSROAD, TURN RIGHT ON OILED ROAD FOR 0.1 MILE TO A DRIVEWAY ON THE LEFT, TURN LEFT AND FOLLOW DRIVEWAY AROUND EAST SIDE OF HOUSE AND BARN FOR 0.1 MILE TO THE BASE OF HILL THENCE NORTHWEST FOR 0.1 MILE TO THE TOP OF HILL AND THE STATION. STATION MARKS ARE STANDARD DISKS STAMPED STEPHENS 1958. THE SURFACE DISK IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 5 INCHES. IT IS ON THE HIGHEST PART NEAR THE SOUTH END OF HILL. A STANDARD WITNESS POST WAS SET 2 FEET EAST OF THE MARK. THE UNDERGROUND DISK IS SET IN AN IRREGULAR MASS OF CONCRETE 30 INCHES BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE GROUND. REFERENCE MARK NO. 1, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED STEPHENS NO 1 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 4 INCHES. IT IS ON THE WEST SLOPE OF HILL AND ABOUT 2 FEET LOWER IN ELEVATION THAN THE STATION. REFERENCE MARK NO. 2, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED STEPHENS NO 2 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 4 INCHES. IT IS ON THE WEST SLOPE OF HILL AND ABOUT 5 FEET LOWER IN ELEVATION THAN THE STATION. AZIMUTH MARK, A STANDARD DISK STAMPED STEPHENS 1958, IS SET IN A SQUARE CONCRETE POST WHICH PROJECTS 2 INCHES. IT IS IN THE NORTHEAST CORNER OF THE LAWN OF MR. FRED L. SCHUBERT, 53 FEET EAST-NORTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF THE DRIVEWAY, 15 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF OILED ROAD AND 1 FOOT EAST OF A POWER POLE WITH A TRANSFORMER. A STANDARD WITNESS POST WAS SET 1.5 FEET NORTHEAST OF THE MARK. TO REACH THE AZIMUTH MARK FROM THE DRIVEWAY MENTIONED ABOVE, GO SOUTHERLY ON DRIVEWAY TO OILED ROAD, TURN SHARP LEFT AND GO EASTERLY ON OILED ROAD FOR 0.5 MILE TO THE RESIDENCE OF MR. FRED L. SCHUBERT ON THE RIGHT AND THE AZIMUTH MARK ON THE RIGHT NEAR POWER POLE WITH A TRANSFORMER.

IT IS 15 FEET SOUTH-SOUTHEAST OF THE CENTER OF KAUFMAN ROAD, 4 FEET EAST OF A METAL POLE SUPPORTING THREE MAILBOXES, AND 1 FOOT WEST OF DUQUESNE LIGHT POWER POLE NUMBER 215686 WITH A TRANSFORMER.
