This lovely 13c church is tucked away between the Manor and the Rectory In Edgcote,Northant's.

The church is dedicated to St James and stand between the Manor and the Old Rectory. The Church is built of local stone, the windows in the south aisle are early workmanship those in the main part are stained glass.
There are two Marble monuments to the Chauncey Family, Lords of the Manor for two hundred and forty years.

The two Elizabethan Tombs are side by side and the figures of Sir William Chauncey with his wife Joan . And Sir Toby Chauncey lies between his two wives.
The Figures of their children are carved round the tomb
The Bust is to Sir Richard Chauncey who rebuilt Edgcote House who died in 1730
Reads" Under this marble stone lies whatsoever was mortal of Bridgit Chauncey, of whom man was not worthy" !
