This wonderful church is featured on the cover of Lavyrle Spencer's book, "Then Came Heaven". LaVyrle Spencer was a Browervill native and she used her local for this book. The church is featured throughout this tale of a young woman killed in an accident. Her children attend the church and her husband is the janitor at the school. The daughters are in the class of Sister Regina who begins to question her vows. It is a heartwarming, tear jerker of a book. Spencer used her hometown as the setting and this church is referred to throughout the book.
The church is not only on the cover but is pivotal to the story. The children attend school at the Church, the nun teaches at the school, the father works as a janitor at the school. The story is set at the school for the most part, the wife's funeral is at the school. The church in the novel, and in Browerville today is the center of the story and the town.
