A stone bridge, 1817, carrying Station Road over the river Dove. During the severe Yorkshire Floods of June 2007 the river rose above the height of the bridge and caused damage to the parapet. This was repaired when the levels dropped and the bridge is still well used as a route to the nearby town of Barnsley. On the opposite side of the road is Lewden Spring Fishery (WMB8MG) with it's own secure parking area. There is a small parking area at the side of the road at the entrance to the Pennine Trail which runs alongside the river, and the date stone can be seen on this side of the bridge. River Dove is not very wide and therefore the bridge is not very long, consisting of one arch and a smaller one.
There are various web sites listing the flooding, one is -http://www.bbc.co.uk/southyorkshire/community/floods/
and another=http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/research/library/publications/40609.aspx
