The woodland covers 9 hectares and includes oak, ash, field maple and hazel trees. Deer roam here and graze on the foliage so some trees are protected with fencing. Coppicing is practiced here to regenerate new stems of hazel.
Some wild flowers which can be seen are Herb Paris, Early Purple Orchid, Bluebells, Snow Drops and Primroses.
