From the intersection of ORE126 with Helmholtz Way in Redmond, travel generally WNW for 5.9 miles to Buckhorn Road. Turn right and go 0.3 miles to a dirt road, then right again for 0.6 miles to a Y-intersection. Bear right, then keep to the left (avoiding a network of OHV tracks) for 0.7 miles. The marker is on the plateau to the left, back from the edge of the rimrock cliffs.

The marker is about 450 feet N from the road. There is a way to scramble up through the rimrock cliffs. There are several prominently-marked bearing trees at the site.
