This twirling flag pattern catches the eye of a motorist traveling north on K30 just north of Alvord, IA. The red, white, and blue stars and stripes seem to revolve above the door of this old white barn. A small grassy pull-over makes a convenient place to view this barn quilt even though it is still quite a distance away. The farm is on the east side of the road, and the quilt can only be seen by northbound traffic.
Your Visit:
I caught sight of this barn quilt on my way to visit a church in Lester this morning. Ever alert for barn quilts in the country, I was overjoyed to find this unexpected surprise.
