The Outdoor Campus at Sertoma Park offers all kinds of opportunities to learn about nature, and bird-watching is one of the popular activities. Two miles of wooded, prairie, and wetland trails provide chances to observe herons, kingfishers, ducks, geese, robins, finches, wrens, owls, blue jays, woodpeckers, or warblers, just to name a few. A shelter on the Prairie Trail has an informative sign that highlights some of the species; and birdhouses and nesting sites provide more opportunity for springtime observation. Be sure to bring your binoculars.
An educational program at the Outdoor Campus Building offers kids a variety of games and activities to help them learn about their feathered friends. There are also numerous bird feeders available to attract a variety of birds.
