The Salt Lake City Cemetery is over 250 acres and contains 9 1/2 miles of roads. Established in 1848. It is the largest city-operated cemetery in the United States. Many religious leaders and politicians, particularly many leaders of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church) lie in the cemetery. Approximately over 120,000 persons are buried in this cemetery.
