Established in 1927, by Robert & Bessie (Talmage) Gass, the Lone Elm Service Station sold not only gasoline, but oxygen, welding supplies and hunting equipment.
Their son Maurice and his wife Mary Ann (Smith) ran the business after Maurice's returning home from World War II.
Maurice Gass 82, of Imlay City passed away, September 7, 2007 at his home.
Sadly, it appears the next of kin have no interest in running the business as the pumps have been removed and the place now looks like it's now owned by Sanford & Son...
