The monument is on the border area where they live Arabic and Turkish communities and neighborhoods, which we call the broader historical center.
The monument consists of a female figure leaning on a spear, it lies at the feet of a lion.
The main inscription is in French, "Our soldiers died for their country."
Below the inscription are the dates 1940 - 1945.
Below the figure is another inscription in Flemish and French,
"City district of Joss Noode dedicated in honor of its citizens, members of the resistance, the exiled and imprisoned for political reasons."
The monument is bordered on a small area with little vegetation.
