Route 66 runs down the middle of Stroud, and brings travelers from far and wide. The town is about halfway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa. The Burford Building was built in 1904, three years before Oklahoma Statehood.

The Ed Smalley Centennial Park is located at 2nd and Main, east of the famous Rock Cafe. This is a small park with a gazebo that is used for beauty and relaxation. There are no recreational facilities here.
