NOS 853 3615 C Tidal, NJ, is a National Ocean Service (NOS) tidal station disk located on the grounds of the US Coast Guard station, at the intersection of 6th Street and Bayview Avenue in the Borough of Barnegat Light, Ocean County, NJ. The disk is set in a drill hole in the top of a concrete bulkhead. It is located 25.9 feet northwest of a light pole, 10.2 feet southwest from the northwest corner of the bulkhead, and 2.0 feet northeast of the southwest edge of the bulkhead. The disk was monumented by the National Ocean Service in 1995, and is stamped 3615 D 1995. In August, 2001, the New Jersey Geodetic Survey documented the station for inclusion in National Spatial Reference System (National Geodetic Survey database). It is in the NGS database at PID = AM6922 (visit link) . To reach from the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 63 to State Highway 72 eastbound. Go east on State Highway 72 for about 7.7 miles to the intersection with Long Beach Blvd. Turn left and go northeast on Long Beach Blvd (known as Central Avenue in the Borough of Barnegat Light) for about 8.3 miles to the intersection with Broadway leading northwest. Turn (half) left and go northwest on Broadway for about 0.17 miles to the intersection with 6th Street. Turn left and go west-northwest on 6th Street for about 0.14 miles to the intersection with Bayview Avenue. Turn left and go south-southwest on Bayview Avenue for about 130 feet to the entrance to the Coast Guard station on the right. Turn right and go northwest for about 130 feet to the headquarters building. From the headquarters building, pack northwest for about 82 feet to the northwest corner of the bulkhead and the station. NOTE: The Barnegat Light Coast Guard Station is an active federal facility, and access is restricted. Before searching for this mark, obtain clearance and an escort at the station’s main administration building.
