NOS 853 3615 C Tidal, NJ, is a National Ocean Service (NOS) tidal station disk located in the southwest angle of the intersection of Broadway and 5th Street in the Borough of Barnegat Light, Ocean County, NJ. The disk is set on the top of a copper-clad steel rod and mounted in a round concrete monument. The disk is recessed about three inches into the top of the monument, and the southern one-half of the monument has been broken off. The disk appears to be solid, however. It is located 39.0 feet southwest of a three-foot diameter manhole cover, 36.4 feet west-northwest of the centerline of Broadway, and 10.8 feet south of wood utility pole number P9231. The disk was monumented by the National Ocean Service in 1976, and is stamped 3615 C 1976. In August, 2001, the New Jersey Geodetic Survey documented the station for inclusion in National Spatial Reference System (National Geodetic Survey database). visit link) . To reach from the Garden State Parkway, take Exit 63 to State Highway 72 eastbound. Go east on State Highway 72 for about 7.7 miles to the intersection with Long Beach Blvd. Turn left and go northeast on Long Beach Blvd (known as Central Avenue in the Borough of Barnegat Light) for about 8.3 miles to the intersection with Broadway leading northwest. Turn (half) left and go northwest on Broadway for about 0.25 miles to the intersection with 5th Street and the station on the left.
