Weimar is home to the Weimar Institute, formerly the Weimar Sanitarium which treated tuberculosis patients until sometime after World War Two. The Institute, owned and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, is comprised of Weimar College, Weimar Academy for high school students, and the Weimar Center of Health and Education. The Center promotes holistic healing, a nature-based approach to health and well-being, and a biblical based lifestyle.
