Schimpff’s Confectionery began in this location in 1891 and makes most of its hard candy by hand. However, taffy is is not a hard candy, so this taffy puller is employed for the heavy work.

The taffy puller can be found in the candy making area towards the center and can be viewed during one of the regularly scheduled (free) tours or by just wandering around like a kid in a candy store.
