Doctor Bridge is the colloquial name given after Edward Tyson, local surgeon, had the bridge widened from a narrow packhorse bridge, so that his pony and trap could pass. Grade 2 listed structure.

Doctor Bridge spans the river Esk at a natural narrowing outcrop of rock. Originally a narrow packhorse bridge, widened by Edward Tyson, surgeon, in 1734 for his carriage.
Doctor Bridge is made from local stone from the south of the valley.
