The pavilion is less than 400m from the official end (start) of the Rideau Trail. West of the pavilion (beyond the War Museum), the Trans Canada Trail and the Rideau Trail share some path. East of the pavilion, the Trans Canada Trail heads under Parliament Hill and on to Quebec.
This section of the Trans Canada Trail is Ottawa's Capital Pathway or Ottawa River Pathway. The map board is out of date. The first 500m west of the map board have been changed to pass by the new War Museum and hug the river. Pay attention to directional signs.
There is limited parking on the east side of old Wellington. The maximum street parking anywhere in the city of Ottawa is three hours.
