Description of Memorial:
This small plaque stands near to the World War I & II Cenotaph at the rear of Manchester Town Hall The site is near to St. Peter’s Square station on the Metrolink light rail system. At this point the trams are running on rails embedded in the road. The memorial originally stood next to the nearby St. Peter's Cross, but was moved to its current position when the tram network was expanded and a new line installed in the square.
