Spanning the thirty or so kilometres between Bangkok and the small provincial capital city of Samut Sakhon is a single train line. The Bangkok end of this line, the Wongwian Yai Railway Station, contains a public clock, next to the track. This functional clock allows the busy stream of commuters to keep track of the passing of the hours.
