There are two identical village signs to the North and South of the village. The sign features the crossed swords of the Cutlers Guild. Above the sword is a fetterlock encompassing a crocus. Apparently an early sign had a yorkist white rose instead of the crocus. Either side of the central roundel are two of the Thaxted Morris wearing the traditional uniform of waistcoats, straw hats and bells.

The sign to the South of the village was donated by Molecular products of Thaxted, whilst the North sign was  donated by Jack Jenkins. The plaque on the North sign reads:-
