This large 1976 work is untitled. The sculpture resembles a conglomeration of machine parts which were taken apart and couldn't be put back in their original place.
The artist, Harold Balazs (pronounced Blaze)learned some of his skills as a young man working in his father's sheet metal and air conditioning business in Ohio. He and his family later moved to Washington State. In 1951 he began his first commission teaming with architects and businees leaders for a work to be displayed at a public building like this one. He has served as Washington's State Arts Commissioner.
