The space has about 5 hectares, delimitated on the north side by a notable architectonic set of the 16th and 17th centuries with wide arcades where several restaurants and handicraft shops are situated, perfect for leisure moments.
The Garden was founded in the 18th century in the continuation of the referred urban set, and is constituted by a big central lawn, with the Vasco da Gama Monument in the centre.
