Isaiah Sellers (b. 1802 d. 1864) was the first man to use the pseudonym "Mark Twain." He started on riverboats about 1825. He became a riverboat pilot three years later. He made at least 460 round trips between St. Louis and New Orleans during his career all without a single accident.
