Fort Scott was a crucial factor to the safety of the settling of the Wiregrass area. Until the construction of Fort Scott, erected on the banks of the nearby Flint River, settlers steered clear of the Creek and Red Stick Indians who roamed the area. This mural is a fitting testament to hard work, dedication and progress. An interesting addition to this mural is the image of a modern person on the far right side who appears to be viewing the fort.
