The Historic 4th Street section of downtown Sioux City was home to many commercial buildings during the late 19th century. The sign for Aalfs Dry Goods advertised a business from early in this city’s history. There have been many recent attempts to beautify this section of town to attract visitors. The pocket park across the street has been named Aalfs Courtyard and displays a wonderful mural from yesteryear along the entire side of the neighboring building.
