Once upon a time this was an important bridge for a huge farming area.

The original bridge is sort of there but the road has been widened over the years, the farms sold and business moved in. The creek is still there and so is the date stone. It is easy to not notice this small piece of history as to all appearances it seems like it is a regular road. Venture into the wooded area off the grass and go down the small hill and you will see hat was there originally. Cool stuff.

The road is officially called County Road 544 but no one and I mean no one uses that, let alone knows about its erstwhile designation. We call it Evesham Road as do all the street signs. The creek and I suppose the bridge divide Voorhees from Cherry Hill as the boundary line passes through this bridge, following the line of the creek.

I am happy to report this marker has gone unmolested over the last 70 years. This has always been a really nice area with low crime and mischief. The date stone reads:

County
Of
Camden
Albert H. Molt - Director
Department of Bridges
Emil J. McCall - Director
County Engineer
S. Herbet Taylor
Bridge No. 6 E-30
1941

Do not park on the road. There is a new small power station built on the side of the road in a wooded area. There is room there for about four cars. Pull in there if you want to see this thing.
