The outdoor plaza at the City of Columbia's new addition to its city
hall has a multimedia sculpture of structural steel and glass
in the symbolic form of a large keyhole. Its glass panels contain
a photographic mosaic of scenes in this college town.

New Mexico artist Howard Meehan's 19 foot tall and 16 feet wide
mixed media scuplture decorates the new outdoor plaza leading to
the new addition to the Columbia, Missouri City Hall. The piece is entitled:Keys to the City. The entrance portal of the sculpture is
a giant keyhole through which pedestrians may pass under on
their way to the building renovation project.
It was installed by the sculptor in the summer of 2010 with the assistance of the building addition design firm of Chiodini
Associates of St. Louis and the landscape designer Jeffery L.
Bruce, whose firm designed the outdoor plaza.
It is built of structural steel, grass, LED lighting and a photo mosaic of scenes from the historic past of this college and
university town.
