The 2nd Indiana Cavalry Monument is a granite commemorative marker. The marker is tall with a top that slant toward a round half a ball on top. The head of a house is carved above the name of the unit that the 2nd Indiana Cavalry severed in during the battle of Chickamauga. A plaque on the back details their actions on Sept 19 and 20. The state seal of Indiana is at the bottom of the monument.

The 19th of September, 1863, this Regiment was guarding the supply train in the rear of the Army and after skimming all day the train was safely brought to Crawfish Springs.
