The Moscow Metro is the second most heavily used subway system in the world.
Opened in 1935, it is well known for the ornate design of many of its stations, which contain numerous examples of socialist realist art, designed by the most skilled architects of the Soviet Union.
Moscow’s metro system has been described as an underground art museum, for its unique murals and decorations. It is one of Moscow’s main attractions, and can be visited at a very low fee.
All of the stations reflect the original decoration and architecture style of the metro, and in about one hour you may visit all of the stations.
The published coordinates indicate one of the many stations in the network, it’s located in the Koltsevaya line, the circle one, so it’s a good place to get in the train and visit some of these impressive stations.
