Description from the Inventory:
Triangular composition with central figure seated in a chair, flanked on either side by a female figure and a winged, four-legged animal. The female figures sit on the ground with their backs to the central figure. The animals are at the far ends of the composition, facing the central figure.
This pediment is an allegory based on the biblical quotation "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). The verse is incised in Greek below the pediment.
