A pilgrimage church at the White Mountain in Prague was originally a chapel, built to the honour of those, who died at the Battle of White Mountain (Bitva na Bílé Hore) in 1620. The old photo was taken (according to mail stamp on the postcard) in 1900, when no houses stood around the church. Only one of the main roads to Prague from the west (Carlsbad road) passed along the church. During 20th century a lot of houses were built around, but the view does not change significantly. Only horse-drawn carriage and wagons were replaced by "millions horses under hood", which passing by daily on the frequent road.
Year photo was taken: 1900
