This 19' Chris Craft Barrelback Custom Runabout sank in 1946 after a crash on Iowa's Lake Okoboji. After being submerged for 49 years scuba diver Jim Koenig discovered the remains in 65’ of water. Koenig spent some time researching the boat before making the attempt to bring it to the surface. Although the boat obtained considerable damage to the wood, the engine was in incredibly good shape. After sealing the remaining wood for its preservation, the boat now resides in the Iowa Great Lakes Maritime Museum where its detailed history can be enjoyed by its many visitors.
