Located at the Deerfield Circle entrance to Mission Trails Park (at the intersection with Mission Gorge Road), these signs are embedded in an artwork entitled "Watermarks". The unusual mural is made up of a semi-circular wall portraying the San Diego River (which flows through the Park) and many imprints, small sculptures or other symbols of the local wildlife and flora. The flora and fauna are identified by both their English and Kumeyaay (local Indian tribe) names...including scorpions, frogs, mesquite, coast live oak and lemonade berry.
