The late Baroque Marian Column was erected in the centre of main square in Jablonné nad Orlicí in 1748. On the top of the column is amazing gilded statue of Immaculata and on the front face of pedestal there is a first verse of a Latin version of the oldest extant hymn to the Blessed Virgin Mary (3rd century A.D.) -"Sub tuum presidium confugimus sancta dei genitrix" ("Beneath your protection, we flee to you,Holy birthgiver of God").
