The statue of Czech heraldic animal - two-tailed Bohemian lion with crown - is located in sharp turn of Chotkova road near east border of Prague's castle complex. The statue is a work of Josef Max and it was made in 1848-49 in memory of Czech soldiers fallen during "Italian campaign" in 1848. The monument stood in other place in Prague and it was moved here in 1953.
