Depicted on two separate panels which stand side by side are aspects of river life. Trees provide the limbs at the edges of the artwork. Reeds grow from the bottom whilst a heron wades along the river, a duck swims past and a family enjoy a picnic complete with Thermos flask and hamper.
The adjacent panel shows life beneath the water with rippling currents. A large fish swims past intent on the bait from the fisherman's line. A kingfisher perches in the tree and houses from the town are shown in the background.
