The helicopter is part of Veterans Park and part of a much larger war memorial. The display has night lights and can be easily seen roadside day or night.

The UH-1H went into service with the U.S. Army in 1967. The Huey is the most universal aircraft of modern times, serving in all four military branches and at least 48 other nations armed forces. Almost 5,000 UH-1H were produced in 1982 with many still in service today. It is manufactured by Bell Aircraft, has a single engine turbine with 1,400 horsepower, can cruise at 127 mph with a max speed of 138 and ha a range of 318 miles.
