The plane is part of Veterans Park and part of a much larger war memorial. The display has night lights and can be easily seen roadside day or night.

The serial number for the plane is 52-5737. The assigned pilot was Richard Murphy and the assigned crew chief was Ed Eicholz. On February 10,1955, the plane was delivered to the USAF. It was manufactured by North American Aviation, Columbus Ohio. It was immediately assigned to the 474th Fighter-Bomber Group (Tactical Air Command). By February 1965 the plane was dropped form active inventory and transferred to museum status.
