The old metal “cage” jail sits in the middle of the Old Threshing Grounds in the tiny community of Granite, IA. Labeled as the Harrisburg Jail, it is presumed that it was moved here from the neighboring town of Harrisburg, SD. It joins several other antiquated buildings which have been utilized for their historical display. The mattresses on the double bunk are long gone, and the open door permits children (and adults) to experience the consequence of bad choices.
