Entering the hundreds of small towns in Oklahoma, it's always fun to see what "this town's water tower is like." Carney is a town of about 650 people in Lincoln County. The area of town where this water tower stands, just off S. Main Street, has many abandoned commercial buildings, but the town is alive and well in other areas of town.
This is a wide cylinder, painted white, with the face of a ferocious bulldog on it, and the words CARNEY BULLDOGS. As you might expect, the high school teams are the Bulldogs, and the town eagerly supports their games and athletic events.
