Foyle’s War was a drama series about a police superintendent during World War 2. The drama starred Michael Kitchen as Detective Chief Superintendent Christopher Foyle, Honeysuckle Weeks as his driver Samantha Stewart, and Anthony Howell as Sergeant Paul Milner.

This episode centres around a bomb disposal team. During an air raid the team are called to a dockyard to defuse an unexploded bomb. Whilst they are defusing the bomb they find a stash of five pound notes amongst the debris. The team scoop out the explosive from the defused bomb and take the money out of the docks in the bomb casing. The money itself is the proceeds of dubious practices by the directors of the dockyard.

The directors of the dockyard seek to recover their money by kidnapping one of the bomb disposal team. Unfortunately the member of the time they target, unknown to the kidnappers, is deaf due to explosion injuries. They kill the soldier and dump him at the bomb disposal team HQ. Foyle becomes involved in the murder inquiry and links the murder with the dockyard and an investigation into black market activities that appears connected to the dockyard. The episode comes to an explosive end when the head of the bomb disposal team meets with the murderers, ostensibly to hand back the money, and blows all of them to bits.

The Church Hall is used as the headquarters of the bomb disposal squad. There are shots at both front and rear of the building.
