On the west wall of "The Boundary on 66" restaurant in Luther, is a black and white mural showing the wild Land Run of 1889. This building is on Route 66, just east of Indian Meridian, which was the eastern boundary of the Run.
Beneath the mural is painted "Indian Meridian," "East Boundary," and "Run of '89." The mural shows a horse and rider racing across a field to stake himself a claim. In his right hand is a wooden stake with a flag. In the background, a man is going at full speed in a Conestoga wagon pulled by two horses. The Oklahoma sky looks wild and stormy.
The artist's name is in script and appears to read D. Woll. The building wall is frame board and batt, but the mural appears to be painted on a wood backing attached to the wall.
