The setting is very scenic and has nice facilities and places to walk and enjoy. There are multiple picnic areas, some with small pavilions. And the rest stop has restrooms for those traveling through the area. A grassy area occupies the upper area of the stop, and there is a small beach located down by the river. The beaches offer access to the water and are good places for finding small fresh-water clam shells. And the higher area of the rest stop is a great place to view the river and its islands, as well as it’s large rock formations. The view of the falls varies with the water level of the river. They can be seen almost all the time except when the water is exceptionally high.
