Organized June 20, 1901, this was the second Elks Lodge in Utah. Now also known as Tintic Eureka Lodge, it was organized as Tintic Lodge because Eureka by itself could not meet the 4,000 minimum population requirement for a lodge. Therefore the lodge encompassed the entire Tintic Mining District, and was named Tintic Lodge #711.
They still meet in the original building, known as the B.P.O.E. Block, which was built in 1909-10, and is now a historic district contributing structure. The upper floor has the meeting hall, and for many years the lower floor was rented out to commercial enterprises.
