Showtime's Californication opens with a montage of shots around the Los Angeles area, the supposed setting of the show. Since Showtime restricts movement of their shows to other recording device, the shot was obtained by photographing a television that was paused on the TiVo recording of the show.
Californication is a story about the sexual infidelities of writer Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny. Despite his desire to have a stable relationship with his wife and daughter, he always fails due to his extra-marital escapades.
Coordinates are from the viewpoint for the scene in Randy's parking lot.
